Rathdowney Gaa and the grounds committee lead by Justin Kavanagh set out on an ambitious 2 new pitches and training area, over 30,000 sq.m project.

Sports Ground Solutions was engaged to design and project manage this sports capital project. DAR Golf competitive pricing and excellent reputation as sports pitch contractor builders won the tender.

The main pitch platform 15,926 sq.m, Second Pitch Platform 10,928 and training area 4,775 sq.m.

Dar Golf excelled in all aspects of the build:

I) Site clearance and site layout

II) Topsoil strip and storing of topsoil which is critical to the build

III) Subgrade cut and fill, levels and grades as set out by sports ground solutions pitch design map

IV) Drainage systems – quality of material critical

V) Topsoil replacement

VI) Seed bed preparation and sand amelioration into soil

VII) Seeding, fertilising and Grow-in

DAR Golf team met all aspects of the pitch construction works at Rathdowney Gaa the Pitch was seeded in June 2020 and got its first cut 4 weeks later.

This is a project that we can all be very proud to say we were part of.
